🧒 Nursery Section: Laying the Foundation for Lifelong Learning

Our Nursery Section caters to children between the ages of 3 to 6 years. At this tender stage, learners are introduced to education in a warm, welcoming, and stimulating environment. The curriculum is delivered through play-based learning, which allows children to explore, ask questions, and develop early academic and social skills in a natural, joyful way.

✨ Levels in the Nursery Section

👶 Baby Class (Ages 3–4)

The Baby Class is every child’s first step into structured learning. Here, we prioritize:

  • Emotional safety and gentle routines
  • Language development through storytelling, songs, and picture books
  • Fine motor skills through play and guided activity
  • Social skills such as sharing, listening, and following simple instructions
🧩 Middle Class (Ages 4–5)

In Middle Class, learners begin to develop pre-literacy and numeracy skills through more structured activities, while still enjoying the play-centered model. They begin:

  • Recognizing letters and numbers
  • Drawing and basic writing strokes
  • Expanding vocabulary and sentence use
  • Participating in group activities and discussions
🎓 Top Class (Ages 5–6)

Top Class bridges the gap between nursery and primary education. Our learners here engage in activities that strengthen their readiness for formal schooling. Areas of focus include:

  • Reading readiness and phonics
  • Basic mathematics and problem-solving
  • Drawing, coloring, and handwriting
  • Environmental and social awareness
  • Moral and spiritual development

Each lesson in nursery lasts 30 minutes, balancing activity and rest to match the children’s natural attention spans.

The nursery years are the roots — and at Hopewell Kanikwa Nursery & Primary School, we make sure they are strong, deep, and full of joy.
